Donations for Operation Christmas Child happen in November so that they can distribute gifts for children around the world in time for Christmas. Their site has all the information you could want about the program. Barb sent a note with info about how you can participate this year:
On behalf of Randolph Heights Presbyterian Church, I would like to invite you to participate with us in the Operation Christmas Child program. This is a program our church has supported for several years. This year we are trying to welcome others in the community to participate with us. If you are not familiar with this program, it is sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse and the website is here. The boxes are sent around the world to children who would otherwise not experience the joy of receiving gifts on Christmas day. RHPC will have plastic shoe boxes available just inside the handicap door on Hamline Ave (starting this Sunday). Any who may wish to participate is welcome to take a box, fill it up (instructions included in the box) and return it to the same place by noon on Sunday November 19th. I will be collecting all the boxes at that time to take to a local drop-off site (probably Gethsemane Lutheran in Maplewood or Central Baptist in Saint Paul).
