I have been thinking about this for a while now, and have talked with others on session about this recently. Overhauling RHPC’s communication. Now, before you get nervous, you really probably won’t notice much change right away. My desire is to see the website be the bread and butter for our communications. The foundation of all the communications for our church life. If you can’t remember a particular announcement, then you can come to the website and find the info. If you want to know when such and such an activity or event is happening, then you can look on the website and find out.My thought is the website will be the “engine” or the “backbone” of our communication. This requires us to be diligent about getting all the information of all the happenings onto the website. This also requires us to get our thoughts and ideas onto the website.

What will all this look like? Right now when the end of the month rolls by, we are clambering around to get information into the Randolph Reporter. Who is going to write an article this month? What all is going into it? Etc… Ideally, when the secretary is ready to put another month’s reporter together, the steps she will take is view the website and summarize the information that is contained on it. Pick an interesting lead article and viola! We have a reporter. The reporter will then be distributed to those who don’t have internet access or email access in the old-fashioned way…. Mail. Everyone else with an email address will receive a digital version of the reporter with links and encouragement to look for additional information on the website. We’ll still print out a few monthly reporters for the information table each month for visitors and others who desire a hard copy.
